78 Year Old KOs Repo Man

Granddad KO’d repo man, then asked for cuppa

TREVOR “The Smiler” King was known for being beaten just once in his 64-fight professional boxing career. Now the 78-year-old has added another notch to his belt.
The grandfather of five celebrated another win last week in a bout against two repo men one-third his age.

Mr King, the founder and chaplain of Westside Mission, a welfare group for battlers, was helping a family having trouble making mortgage repayments on their Auburn home.
But as he was stocking the family’s fridge on Wednesday, two men from the couple’s mortgage financiers turned up to repossess personal items.

The trouble began when the men began shoving home-owner Ted Fergussen’s partner, Maria. Mr King intervened.

“This chap said, ‘Get out of the way, you silly old goat’ to Trevor,” Mr Fergussen, 56, said.

"Trevor took him out with one punch. After knocking out the man, Mr King sat down at the kitchen table and said, “I could go a cup of tea.”

Mr Fergussen said the men, who were “25 at most and built like front-row footballers”, had underestimated Mr King, unaware he was NSW featherweight champion from 1952 to 1954.

“This fellow had a go at me so I inadvertently threw my right hand and he collided with it.”

Mr King, who has a weak heart, is almost blind in one eye and was diagnosed with leukemia four years ago, said the fallen man’s co-worker then repeatedly punched him in the stomach, but his fist bounced off his rock-hard abdominal muscles. He said the man took off down the driveway.

NSW has the highest number of mortgage defaults and delinquencies.-- State Government figures show that 1077 homes were repossessed in the first quarter of 2008, up from 291 in the same period last year

I choose to believe that this story happened exactly as it was described here.

woot!!

bornsceptic - I hope so too. Disgusting how those repos decided to take on a man 3 times their age. I’m surprised the Herald didn’t report which company/financier these men represented.

Elderly man beats down two delinquents. Why not…

A puncher never loses his punch! Way to go old-timer!!

way to go , cheers mate

I love these stories. It kinda gives me hope that at the end of my MA career I will still be able to move.

“I inadvertently threw my right hand and he collided with it.”

That line is so damn full of awesome.

I hope I’m half that awesome someday.

That was satisfying on every level.

Guy looks good for 78.

Repo men for the lose.

I’ve seen this happen with WWII vets many years ago. Although it sounds like fun, their old system usually has trouble with the adrenaline rush and the stress.

But an ex champ, good for him. Hope his ticker holds for many more years.

BAD ASS OF THE MONTH!!

Also what does NSW stand for?

Seconded.

New South Wales. Its a state in Australia mate.

fantastic. i love it when the old guys do stuff like this.

the fallen man’s co-worker then repeatedly punched him in the stomach, but his fist bounced off his rock-hard abdominal muscles.

Also full of win!

Funny how he knocked the first guy clean out, then let the second guy punch him repeatedly in the stupendous sixpack…

Deflecting body punches with your rock-hard abs is definitely the way to go though. I think I’ll work that a little at training tomorrow…:tongue1:

Didn’t you know? That’s the guy that taught Omega how to block punches and kicks with his face.

So one asshole has to repossess his teeth, the other needs to restitute his knuckles and wrists.

Who needs the geritol now, bitches?

score one for crazy old man strength
